Rationale:

The city of Seattle has the nickname “Emerald City” so I chose to go off of that for the concept behind my Olympic bid logo design. I used a simplified diamond shape so it could be readable at a large and small scale. I also incorporated the Space Needle into the diamond shape since it is Seattle’s most well known and recognizable landmark. Since this logo design is for the Winter Olympics, I chose two cool emerald greens for the color palette. I used the font Quantify for “SEATTLE” and chose this font because it has similar broken up parts like the diamond logo. I also used the font Exo, a simple sans serif, for the year for contrast.
